Alan Rocke
Henry Eldridge Bourne Professor of History and Distinguished University Professor
I am a historian of science, specializing in the history of the physical sciences during the 19th and 20th centuries. My particular research interest is in the development of the science of chemistry and its applications during the course of the nineteenth century, especially in Germany, France, and Great Britain. In addition, I have a strong teaching interest in the history of technology, and in courses that explore the historical impact of science and technology on society.
