Aviva Rothman is the inaugural dean’s associate professor at Case Western Reserve University, where she is a member of the Department of History in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is also the director of graduate studies for history, co-director of the History and Philosophy of Science program, and a faculty fellow for the Experimental Humanities program at CWRU. She is the author of The Pursuit of Harmony: Kepler on Cosmos, Confession and Community (University of Chicago Press, 2017) and The Dawn of Modern Cosmology: Copernicus to Newton (Penguin, 2023). She is currently writing a new biography of Kepler for the Renaissance Lives series, and has also been slowly working on a planned book on science and myth in the 17th and 18th centuries.
